He is a British YouTuber and retired nurse educator known for his videos about the COVID-19 pandemic. As of December 2022, his YouTube channel had 2.6 million subscribers and over 581 million views. He holds a diploma in nursing from the University of London, a BSc in biology from the Open University, an MSc in health science from the University of Lancaster, and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Bolton. He received the Ph.D. for his work on developing methods of teaching via digital media such as online videos. Campbell worked as a nursing educator at the University of Cumbria, and has experience as an emergency department nurse. He has also tutored healthcare workers in Cambodia and India. He is the author of the nursing-related bioscience textbooks Campbell's Physiology Notes and Campbell's Pathophysiology Notes. A review in Emergency Nurse magazine said that the latter textbook contained "excellent [and] inexpensive notes on the causes, pathophysiological changes, and clinical features seen in disease processes". In 2008, he established a YouTube channel to provide educational lectures on topics in health science and nursing.- John W. As a writer his most famous work is the novella 'Who Goes There?' first printed in 'Astounding Stories' August 1938. A tale of isolation, cabin fever, and alien invasion, the story has been filmed three times: as The Thing from Another World (1951), as The Thing (1982) by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell, and as The Thing (2011). The story has also made into video game format. His short story 'The Machine' was filmed in the 1950's Tales of Tomorrow (1951).

John Campbell-Mac is a British actor and producer now living and working in Los Angeles, California. He has won many awards and accolades for his various works including a B.A.F.T.A nomination.
John has starred in many cool British feature films, including '31 North 62 East', 'Forty Five' and 10 Dead Men', not to mention B.A.F.T.A nominated 'Winner Takes All' which he also wrote and produced.
John has had the honour of training with excellent teachers on both sides of the Atlantic including Mike Bernardin, Bathsheba Garnett, Ivana Chubbuck, Margie Haber and accent expert Bob Corff. He is currently working with John Ruskin at the Ruskin theatre (one of Sandford Meisners own teachers from the neighborhood playhouse) who he is very proud to count as a friend.
In the short time he has been in the US (holds a green card EB1) he has already enjoyed success in both film and television. He particularly enjoyed the movie 'L.A Paranormal' (he played an unlikely playboy psychic) as it was shot with no scripted dialogue in the style of 'This is Spinal Tap' and relied heavily on the skills of the lead actors. In TV he enjoyed hit-man comedy series 'Hit The Big Time' which was filmed in Hollywood, Las Vegas, London and Utah.
Recently he has been playing more dramatic roles, he played a veteran militia captain in the exceptional period mini series 'Courage, New Hampshire' and a dark lawyer in the movie 'A Million Dead Presidents'.
John has a natural flair for comedy and in his own words has "a love of life and loves to laugh". He is a British political writer and biographer. His works include biographies of Lloyd George, F. E. Smith, Aneurin Bevan, Roy Jenkins, Edward Heath, and Margaret Thatcher, the last consisting of two volumes, The Grocer's Daughter (2000) and The Iron Lady (2003).A one-volume abridgment prepared by David Freeman (a historian of Britain teaching at California State University, Fullerton), entitled The Iron Lady: Margaret Thatcher, From Grocer's Daughter to Prime Minister, was published in 2009 and reissued in paperback in 2011. He was awarded the NCR Book Award for his biography of Heath in 1994.
He has also written, If Love Were All ... the story of Frances Stevenson & David Lloyd George (2006) and Pistols At Dawn: Two Hundred Years of Political Rivalry from Pitt & Fox to Blair & Brown (2009).
